Joran was born to a farming family on Corellia, in a sparsely populated area of the planet. Being Force sensitive, Joran was quickly discovered by the Jedi Order, and his parents reluctantly handed him over to the Jedi. Joran excelled in his studies, mainly those that focused on Lightsaber combat. Joran quickly proved his abilities and was soon taken on as a Padawan, by a Jedi Knight known as Rand Durst. Years later, civil war would break out between the Sith and Jedi, leaving many dead on both sides, including Joran’s master. Hopelessly outnumbered, Joran had no choice but to flee and go into hiding, as he was certain the Sith would hunt down the Jedi by any means necessary. Joran began taking on bounties and Mercenary work as a means of supporting himself. In place of a lightsaber, he had began using blaster pistols, but always kept his lightsaber on his person, out of view underneath a Kama that he wore.
